Subject: (4) ADMINISTRATION—GENERIC VERSUS SPECIFIC PARTS

In order to obtain the best pricing for purchased parts, Seasons-4 has "generic" part numbers for many items which we use. For example, if an engineer calls out 16 x 20 x 2 pleated filters, purchasing may buy Farr, AAF, Eaton, Dixie etcetera. If a job specification requires a certain manufacturer/brand/ model, then purchasing must be notified IN WRITING (via e-mail or memo) at the time the parts are committed. For example, Seasons-4 is currently using Square-D contactors. If a job specification requires Cutler-Hammer contactors, purchasing must be notified.
