Replacement unitwidths shall be determined using the table below with the exceptions noted below. The dimensions in the table are designed to ensure that the unit base with integral curb flashing will fit the existing curb without interference.

  1. Existing unit widths greater than 93” and less than or equal to 96” will be evaluated to determine if the replacement unit can be manufactured as 96” wide to maintain legal load shipping status.
  2. Existing unit widths greater than 135” will be evaluated to determine if the replacement can be manufactured as 138” to avoid escorted load status.

 

EXCEPTIONS:

  1. When we are replacing a unit that has previously been replaced, the selection of the cabinet size of the new unit shall be based on the original equipment dimensions and curb, unless directed otherwise by Sales (For example, if we are replacing a Seasons-4 unit that originally replaced a Nesbitt unit, the new Seasons-4 replacement will be sized based on the Nesbitt unit that was originally installed rather than the Seasons-4 unit that is currently installed).
  2. When replacing a “new construction” Seasons-4 unit where we supplied the curb, the unit width will be based on current new construction standard widths (see table below). The project engineer must verify that there is at least ½” clearance between the existing curb and new unit on all sides.

Any exception must be pre-approved prior to putting it in a drawing. Exception should be brought to Engineering Manager’s attention. The <st1:personname w:st="on">Engineering</st1:personname> Manager, with consultation with Operations Manager, will approve or disapprove exceptions. If an old job is being copied to design a new unit and the old unit width falls within a range shown above, the unit width shall be changed to the corresponding new unit width.
