Subject: (23) Engineering Review of Units in Production

The project engineer will perform a review of each of his units during Production. The intent of this review is to insure that the units are constructed in a manner such that they will perform as designed and submitted. Units will be inspected in first assembly and after or during line wiring, but prior to casing. The engineer will take his copy of the production package for reference and notes.

Once the final review is complete, the project engineer will send an e-mail to the Plant Manager (copied to Production Supervisor, Test Station Supervisor, Manufacturing Manager and Engineering Manager) with items that he has found during the review. Any issues found prior to the final review will be addressed at the time they are found with the Plant Manager or Production Supervisor. The email subject line should reference the factory order number and state “Engineering Review”. The e-mail should indicate where the unit or units are physically located in Production (Plant #, line #, Department), followed by a list of items for that unit. Each unit should be listed separately. If any items are found which require any changes to the unit production package, these changes will be distributed as indicated in the procedure, “Production Package Policy.” If there are no items found, the e-mail will state that no items were found.
