Subject: (18) OMS Manuals

Operation, Maintenance and Service Instruction (OMS) Manuals will be assembled by the Engineering Department Administrative Assistant for each project. The manuals shall be prepared no later than one day prior to the unit ship date as shown in Pro-5, so that the test station can pick-up a copy to be put in each unit prior to shipping. Additional copies will be mailed as specified on the Factory Order Information sheet provided by the Sales Department. The Engineering Administrative Assistant will also create an electronic copy of the OMS manual in pdf format for each project. The electronic copy will be stored inFO ( J:) drive “OMS Manual” folder.

The content of the OMS manual is determined by the Project Engineer. The Project Engineer will complete the OMS Manual worksheet electronically by opening the OMS generator spreadsheet located in S:\OMS\OMS Generator.xls, checking all items to be included in the OMS manual, and saving the file as FOFO_OMSCHK.xls in theFO ( J:) drive “Engineering” folder, where FOFO represents the four-digit factory order number.The project engineer should complete the worksheet by the project production start date. Once the project engineer has completed the worksheet, he will enter the date, month and day (mm/dd/99), in Pro-5 under the production package date (EX: 09/29/99). The Engineering Department Administrative Assistant will overwrite the date in Pro-5 with the complete date (mm/dd/yy) once all the manuals requested by Sales have been completed.

 

The Engineering Department Administrative Assistant will also print the OMS manual index from the completed OMS manual worksheet to be included immediately following the cover sheet. It will be the responsibility of the Administrative Assistant to verify that all items shown on the OMS index are in the completed manual.
