Engineering will create all required piping schematics at the same time that the BOM and work orders are created. The piping schematics must be labeled with the unit work order number, unit designation (if applicable), circuit numbers, and project engineer’s initials. The complete set of piping schematics (refrigerant, water, steam, etc.) for the entire factory order (all work orders) will saved as a single file. The file name will be the four digit factory order number (such as A055, etc.) and the file will be savedas FOFO_PIPING in theFO ( J:) drive “Production” folder, where FOFO represents the four-digit factory order number. The project engineer may create this file using Adobe Acrobat or he will provide the complete set of drawings, paper clipped together, to the Engineering Administrative Assistant to be scanned. All diagrams will be scanned together and The Engineering Administrative Assistant will then return the entire set of diagrams to the project engineer.

 

If any changes must be made to any of the piping schematics prior to the production date, the changes should be circled on the schematic and dated by the project engineer. If the project engineer does not update the FOFO_PIPING file on the network with Adobe Acrobat, a complete set of piping schematics will be given to the Engineering Administrative Assistant to scan. The file will be saved under the same name to replace the existing file with the new file. Even if only one schematic is changed, the entire set is to be re-scanned to ensure that we always have the complete set saved on the network.
