I want to send a quick reminder about unit width limits, prompted by the upcoming shipment of &#039;&#039;&#039;Load E883&#039;&#039;&#039;, which was built at &#039;&#039;&#039;144.5 inches wide&#039;&#039;&#039;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
&#039;&#039;&#039;Why This Matters:&#039;&#039;&#039;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Any load over &#039;&#039;&#039;102 inches (8 feet 6 inches)&#039;&#039;&#039; in width is considered &#039;&#039;&#039;oversize (OD)&#039;&#039;&#039; in every state. That means even if a unit is 103&amp;quot; wide, it&#039;s subject to:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:&#039;&#039;&#039;•	Permitting requirements&#039;&#039;&#039;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:&#039;&#039;&#039;•	Daylight-only travel restrictions&#039;&#039;&#039;&lt;br /&gt;

Please make you are specifying the stainless steel hardware for coastal/corrosion protection is required. When possible, continue to request a quote from Greenheck so we can check on a number of different sizes. Many of the blowers for Publix will be the same so we would not need to continue to check the price on these in most cases. Also make sure that they are including a lead time on the quotation. We have had a number of bearing failures this year with TCF, they have had issues building fans correctly, and the customer service has not been great. Please note that the options that state “FAN TO BE ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION (option #23016, #23026)” are intended to specify an ALL aluminum construction, meaning wheel , inlet cone and frame. Currently, Twin City and Comefri are the only suppliers that we have for all aluminum plenum blowers, and Comefri’s offering is only available up to 28” diameter. &amp;lt;u&amp;gt;Twin City has had several late deliveries so we want to use them only when absolutely necessary.&amp;lt;/u&amp;gt; We are working with Comefri’s engineering to get their product added to the ERP, but at the moment you have to use the manual option in the ERP.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Greenheck’s APH does have an aluminum wheel, and an aluminum inlet cone is available (standard is steel). There is an option in Pro-5 for aluminum wheel (option #23051), so if only an aluminum wheel if required, we can use Greenheck.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When all aluminum construction is requested for weight reduction, we need to pursue other options an use the all aluminum blower as a last resort. The all aluminum construction in addition to the lead time concerns is quite expensive. Our goal should be to minimize the use of all aluminum construction blowers as much as possible. Sales will continue to request all aluminum construction for “extreme coastal” units.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If we have preliminary design that become factory orders with the Twin City blowers, we need to try and change these blowers to Greenheck or Comefri. In many cases, we have been able to change from TCF all aluminum to Greenheck and make some adjustments to the weight to keep the same weight from the submittal.&lt;br /&gt;

Please let me know if you have one of these designs, and I will work with you to see what we can do. If we do determine that TC is our only option, then we will need to release the blowers as early as we can to help with lead time.&lt;br /&gt;

The recent automation that we were finally able to add to the PE Schedule has been a huge game changer. Clay and I are now able to review jobs, add new jobs to the schedule and make start date updates about 3 to 4 times faster and more accurate than before. The only down side is the fact that, since it is a shared excel file, our major updates can easily get overwritten by other user updates. As we discussed in last week’s meeting, please do not keep the PE Schedule open for an extended period of time. If you do have it open for a long time, do &amp;lt;u&amp;gt;not&amp;lt;/u&amp;gt; save the file. The new approach really needs to be open the file, get what you need, then get out.&lt;br /&gt;

We would like to start following these guidelines until we are able to incorporate the PE Schedule directly into the ERP.&lt;br /&gt;

I am try to figure out why the PE Schedule keeps resetting the major scheduling changes, so with all of us following these few procedures, hopefully we can figure out why. I know Excel is not the ideal platform for the department scheduling, but it is the best thing we have right now and really easy to use. Could be worse; could be in Pro-5.&lt;br /&gt;

The only down side is the fact that, since it is a shared excel file, our major updates can easily get overwritten by other user updates. As we discussed in last week’s meeting, please do not keep the PE Schedule open for an extended period of time. If you do have it open for a long time, do &amp;lt;u&amp;gt;not&amp;lt;/u&amp;gt; save the file. The new approach really needs to be open the file, get what you need, then get out.&lt;br /&gt;

The PE should employ critical thinking in the creation of this document. Balancing the need for expediency with the need to clarify project requirements. Avoid direct duplication of FO options and SE’s but expand and clarify any options or SE’s that could be confusing or misinterpreted on the floor. Call out items that are unique to the project or are critical to customer satisfaction. Items that could be expensive repairs if not installed (or not installed correctly) in production.&lt;br /&gt;

Create a document that improves the chance that Seasons 4 will produce a quality product.&lt;br /&gt;

Flat base frame- This unit has a FLAT base frame. 95% of the formed bases S4 builds have the integral flashing. This may be the only place that it would be visible outside of engineering and drafting.&lt;br /&gt;

Change to a common design- The previous four units had viewports. This unit does NOT have viewports.&lt;br /&gt;

Sales has been notified to include this on all factory orders, but if they have missed it, please make sure to have them add it to the factory order. Only the ZPV circuit will get an EEV, unless specified otherwise in the factory order.&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;lt;u&amp;gt;EEV Selection:&amp;lt;/u&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The EEV selections do NOT have any over capacity built in to the Sporlan program like the TXV’s, so it is recommend that EEVs be selected for 90% maximum rating. It is important to keep in mind that you do not have to be as concerned with the valve being “oversized” for EEVs as the valve’s control is consistent through the range of operation.&lt;br /&gt;

Just want to remind you that we want to use Greenheck blowers as much as possible in lieu of Twin City. We have had a number of bearing failures this year with TCF, they have had issues building fans correctly, and the customer service has not been great. That being said, we must strive to maintain a working relationship with TCF because we still rely on them for aluminum construction blowers and vertical belt driven plenum blowers. Please note that the options that state “FAN TO BE ALUMINUM CONSTRUCTION (option #23016, #23026)” are intended to specify an ALL aluminum construction, meaning wheel , inlet cone and frame. Currently, Twin City and Comefri are the only suppliers that we have for all aluminum plenum blowers, and Comefri’s offering is only available up to 28” diameter. &amp;lt;u&amp;gt;Twin City has had several late deliveries so we want to use them only when absolutely necessary.&amp;lt;/u&amp;gt; We are working with Comefri’s engineering to get their product added to the ERP, but at the moment you have to use the manual option in the ERP.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Greenheck’s APH does have an aluminum wheel, and an aluminum inlet cone is available (standard is steel). There is an option in Pro-5 for aluminum wheel (option #23051), so if only an aluminum wheel if required, we can use Greenheck.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
When all aluminum construction is requested for weight reduction, we need to pursue other options an use the all aluminum blower as a last resort. The all aluminum construction in addition to the lead time concerns is quite expensive. Our goal should be to minimize the use of all aluminum construction blowers as much as possible. Sales will continue to request all aluminum construction for “extreme coastal” units.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If we have preliminary design that become factory orders with the Twin City blowers, we need to try and change these blowers to Greenheck or Comefri. In many cases, we have been able to change from TCF all aluminum to Greenheck and make some adjustments to the weight to keep the same weight from the submittal.&lt;br /&gt;

When all aluminum construction is requested for weight reduction, we need to pursue other options an use the all aluminum blower as a last resort. Sales will continue to request all aluminum construction for “extreme coastal” units.&lt;br /&gt;

If we have preliminary design that become factory orders with the Twin City blowers, we need to try and change these blowers to Greenheck or Comefri. In many cases, we have been able to change from TCF all aluminum to Greenheck and make some adjustments to the weight to keep the same weight from the submittal.&lt;br /&gt;
